Hall of Fame Class of 1996

In her long and distinguished career, Ann Cass served as a teacher and administrator of adult education programs in the New York City Public Schools. She also served as an Associate in Adult Education with the New York State Department of education as well as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Adult Education with the City College of the City University of New York.

She was active in both the Adult Education Association of the U.S.A. (AEA/USA) and the National Association for Public Continuing and Adult Education (NAPCAE). She was a Life Member of AEA/USA and Chairman of its Commission on Adult Basic Education. She was a Charter Member, member of the Board of Directors, and recipient of the Outstanding Service Award of NAPCAE. She represented the United States at the International Conferences on Adult Education in Poritch, Croatia and Salzburg, Austria.

Her legacy includes authoring numerous books including Adult Elementary Education, How We Live, How to be a Wise Consumer, Reading Power, Live and Learn, and Adult Basic Education.
