Hall of Fame Class of 1998

Patrick J. Borich joined the University of Minnesota faculty as a county extension agent in 1958 and rose through administrative levels to become Dean and Director in 1984, a position he held until his retirement in January 1995. Nationally and internationally, he is known as a teacher and lecturer in administration and program development. He has served on and chaired several national cooperative extension committees, including the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) and its subcommittees on Legislative, Outreach and Technology Transfer, Program and Personnel Development, and the National Strategic Planning Council. In addition, he edited the Journal of Extension.

He is the recipient of many honors. In recognition for his contributions to the field of adult and continuing education, he received in 1992 the Distinguished Extension Ruby Award from Epsilon Sigma Phi, the national extension fraternity.
