Fred Harrison, Jr.

Before assuming his current position as Administrator/Director of the Cooperative Extension Program at The Fort Valley State College in Edison, Georgia, Fred Harrison, Jr. served the College as Interim Dean of the School of Agriculture, Home Economics, and Allied Programs. He has also served as Extension Specialist - Personnel and Staff Development, Assistant Professor of Extension Education, Interim Department head, and Coordinator for both Undergraduate and Graduate Extension Programs at The University of Georgia where he also held membership on the graduate faculty. He has served the Cooperative Extension System both at the state and national levels. He served as Chairman of the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) from 1993-1994 and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Secretary of Agriculture's Joint Council for Food and Agricultural Sciences.
He has assisted with rural and economic development in the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, and France and has worked with leaders and managers from Kenya, Jamaica, Nigeria, Egypt, Sierra Leone, Lesotho, Somalia, Belize, Puerto Rico, Guyana, and South Korea. He is listed in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, Outstanding Young Men in America, and Who's Who in the South.
