K. Patricia Cross

K. Patricia Cross is the David Pierpont Gardner Professor of Higher Education at the University of California at Berkeley. She has had a varied and distinguished career as a university administrator (Assistant Dean of Women at the University of Illinois and Dean of Students at Cornell University), researcher (Distinguished Research Scientist at the Educational Testing Service and Research Educator at The Center for Research and Development in Higher Education at the University of California at Berkeley), and teacher (Professor and Chair of the Department of Administration, Planning, and Social Policy at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and Professor of Higher Education at the University of California at Berkeley).
Widely published, she was elected to the National Academy of Education and received the E.F. Lindquist Award from the American Educational Research Association, the Sidney Suslow Award from the Association for Institutional Research, and the Howard Bowen Award from the Association for the Study of Higher Education.
A past president of the American Association of Higher Education, she is listed in Who's Who in America, was named "Adult Educator of the Year" by the Coalition of Adult Education Associations and received the 1990 Leadership Award from the American Association of Community and Junior Colleges.
